Each week, Tom tells us how many cranes have begun migration and how many cranes remain. Almost all depart in April. They must hurry north to Canada to build nests, lay eggs, and raise chicks for the next generation. Come fall, they'll teach their chicks the migration route to Texas just as they've done for eons!
