Bald Eagle

Bald Eagle

Observations in the Eagle Nests
Viewing Pictures from the Nestcam

  • On 4/20 the chicks were a lot smaller than on 4/26.
  • The chicks are covered with downy feathers.
  • Chicks are huddles together. They are touching in as many places as possible.
  • Chicks are in the center of the nest.
  • The center of the nest has the least course stick material.
  • Both chicks heads are up when the parent arrives.
  • One chick- probably the older one has moved so it is facing the adult (and the food they brought).
  • Both chicks moved over to the edge of the nest closer to the parent.
  • It looks like the chicks use their wings to move across the nest. You can see parts of the wings- shoulder, elbow and arm.
  • One chick looks bigger and darker than the other.
